This is the 24^th year that the Parish has been raising funds for CAFOD.

Every year we have two Family Fast Days, Lent and Harvest.  These typically raise around £600 each plus gift aid.

This last year we have had two special appeals viz. the Philippines cyclone appeal and most recently the appeal for humanitarian aid for those caught up in the Gaza conflict.

These raised £825 and £967 respectively, plus gift aid.

Every Christmas we hold a Carol Concert and raffle.  Last year we used a new venue at Marlborough Court in Bideford. It was another success and almost £800 was raised.  I am very grateful to many people especially Barbara and Anne de Noronha for their continued support throughout the year.

Also Linda and Richard Escott for their cream tea event in June 2014, this raised almost £670.

The total raised for CAFOD in the calendar year 2013 was £4,657.  The total for 2014 should be between £3,000 - £3,500.

Aside from special appeals and Fast Days each £750 that is raised is used to provide fresh clean drinking water in the third World.  Since the Parish started supporting CAFOD in 1990 the total raised to date is some £86,100 !!
