CHURCHES TOGETHER IN BIDEFORD

True to the Multi-coloured umbrella logo for Churches Together in Bideford this organisation covers a multitude of activities in the Torridge area.

This year's "Walk of Witness" will take place on 14th April

It is responsible for the organisation / setting up / and execution of the School Pastors, whereby volunteers wait outside schools to ensure pupils do not get into trouble after hours. This is an offshoot of Street Pastors which is proving extremely successful and has the backing and support of the police. This is practised nationwide and Bideford is one of the leading lights in this project.

The hard work and dedication of the CTIB is absolutely phenomenal with a representative running Harbour, schemes to draw in more Christians, non-stop work for the young and homeless, ditto for addicts both on drugs and alcohol, work for the mentally ill, etc. etc.

The project "Food Bank" had proved a Godsend to Bideford and District's needy. It has gathered strength and moved out of the Bideford area to surrounding towns. It has now spread nationwide and is a great success, but always needs more support from the kindness and generosity of the public.

Harbour is exactly what it says on the tin and gives strong support to the homeless and the needy, including helping with debt (advisory capacity), professional guidance on how to manage small budgets, etc. along with other organisations it also helps with housing in dire circumstances.

CTIB works in conjunction with other churches not only throughout the South West, but nationally.  LINK TO WALK OF WITNESS

I feel honoured to play a minute role in this group as minute secretary to the enabling group and representative for the Sacred Heart.
